Karl and Michelle Eve began operating Blackbird Plumbing in early 2010 as the perfect synthesis of his trade skills and her unusual fondness for bookkeeping.

As newlyweds in 2002, they left Ontario with only a pickup truck and a tent to find a new community in which to settle. After touring both Northern and Western Canada, they found in Exshaw the ideal place to establish a home.

Now with three children and a business in the mix, there are no regrets. 🙂

In the Fall of 2002, Karl began his plumbing apprenticeship, where he acquired training in both new construction and in service repair. He graduated in 2007 from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), obtaining his Journeyman’s licence in both plumbing and gasfitting.

Karl is a longtime volunteer Fire-fighter/Emergency Medical Responder with Bighorn Emergency Services and is presently the Exshaw Station Chief. Like many residents of the Bow Valley he enjoys mountain biking in his free time, especially riding the formidable Prospector Trail.
